Local SEO Chapter 3.5 – Getting Positive Reviews
I can't tell you the amount of times I have looked for a local business and then seen even just two or three negative reviews on their listing and immediately just looked at the next listing on Google maps. You don't want to be that business that's for sure and even if you are you don't have to be anymore after reading this chapter.
Let’s think about this for a second. Google are in the business of providing the best and relevant results to your searches, if they didn't they wouldn't be in business very long!
So when for example you are looking for an Italian restaurant in New York you want to be presented with the best options and not some run down pizza take out joint. There is a clever way Google does this with local businesses and it is through positive reviews.
Can you see how powerful this is? The more positive reviews you have for your business whether you sell products or services, the better Google will rank you on the map and even on the normal search engine listings.
So it makes sense that you are going to want to get these reviews and as many as possible. I would also encourage you to set a system in place to be able to collect these reviews consistently every month – this will yield the best results.
But you may be asking, “How do I get these Google business reviews?” Rest assured I have you covered my friend with the below short video showing exactly how.

We have a business partner here that is a “reviews” rockstar, Dustin Miller; we are currently working with a local Chiropractor (friend/client) to work the review angle. Our idea on this is people who are in need will read reviews, trust his work, then call for an appointment. He wanted AdWords PPC but without reviews first that was going to be a waste of money I’ll let ya’ll know how it goes as it unfolds.
Paul, ill send you that screenshot now.
I like the way you are thinking and especially by putting your clients interests first. A local maps optimisation through reviews and other tactics as discussed in this course could often yield better results initially than just flying into an Adwords campaign. Thanks for the screenshot too!
