So now that you have an idea as to the work required to get to the top of the Google Map there is now a simple question to ask. “Who is going to do all of this?” and more importantly should you be doing it all yourself?

If you are doing all this work yourself you are falling into the trap many small business owners make of working in the business and not on it.
In the beginning you may have to do most of this yourself, which is fine but you quickly want to get into a position where you are able to outsource this work either to trained VA’s (virtual assistants) or employees (whether paid or work experience employees).
If you do find yourself currently in the position of doing this all yourself there are two ways to begin gradually moving out of this mindset. The first way is to begin out tasking, this is different to outsourcing as it involves delegating specific action items. Items such as writing that blog post your website so desperately needs or maybe getting that professional book cover designed for your upcoming book launch. There is a great website I recommend for the process of out tasking and its called FIVERR. You can get so many great things done for $5, its great!
The second option you have is to get an intern (work experience) and sign a contract that is in yours and theirs best interest. To really get the most out of this its important to clearly have goals in your business of what you want to achieve in the time that the intern is with you. Its however just as important to choose an intern who has goals of their own for their future work that matches your requirements. So if you are needing a lot of graphic design work done it makes sense to maybe find an intern who has just completed their graphic design degree. This way you both win and the intern will leave moving onto the strong possibility of future employment because they now have your business as a reference. I cannot recommend this strategy enough for you!
